Happy Valentine’s Day from The Center for Anti-violence Education!

To celebrate Valentine's Day, CAE has a special deal on three great gifts you can give your loved ones while at the same time supporting CAE's mission to end violence and empower our communities!

To order any of these, simply send an email to naomi@caeny.org or call 718-788-1775 and ask for Naomi, Monday-Friday from 10-6:00. To place your order, please fill out and return the order form (Download the Order Form in MS Word or PDF)

After you place your order, CAE will send a Valentine's Day card to your chosen recipient inscribed with your message, and with a certificate for your gift enclosed.

Gift of
Self-Defense

For a special discounted price of $100, you can give your loved one a certificate good for an entire 5-week self-defense course here at CAE--that's only $20 per class! This class covers potentially life-saving verbal and physical self-defense techniques, and includes discussions and activities about safety, violence prevention, and conflict de-escalation. The price not only includes this one-of-a-kind course, but also supports CAE's commitment to providing free classes for teens and survivors of violence, free childcare for students, and low-cost classes for families.

Certificate is good through February 2010--see the flyer for the next session of Self-Defense, starting April 25, 2009.

Gift of T'ai Chi:

This gift certificate entitles the bearer to their choice of a 45-minute private t'ai chi lesson with Annie Ellman, or two t'ai chi classes at CAE. T'ai chi is a meditative martial art practiced for strengthening and stress reduction. Annie Ellman has been teaching martial arts since 1972, and has studied multiple forms, trained over 200 instructors, and developed specialized courses in martial arts and self-defense for many of the communities CAE serves. Annie is CAE's head martial arts instructor and a co-founder of the organization.

Certificate is good through January 2010. T'ai chi classes at CAE meet every Thursday at 7:15pm--see the flyer for CAE's t'ai chi classes here.

Gift of Giving:

Give a donation to CAE in honor of your loved one! Donations help provide free spaces for children from low-income families in CAE's children's program, the Children's Empowerment Project (CEP). For information about CEP, click here. Donations can also go to support CAE's work in New York City public schools, providing free and low-cost anti-violence programming to students throughout the five boroughs. CAE's in-school workshops are empowering for students and teach essential self-defense, safety, and violence prevention skills to youth who wouldn't otherwise have access to these vital services. Your chosen recipient will receive a card and certificate describing the gift given in their name, and you will receive a letter of thanks from CAE documenting your tax-deductible donation.

Thank you for your support of The Center for Anti-violence Education!
We wish you and your loved ones a happy and safe Valentine's Day!
