Alexis

Alexis joined CAE in 2022 as the Director of Programs. She has worked as a social worker in youth development, community mental health, and educational access. As an organizer she has worked to dismantle white supremacy in individuals and communities, uplift QTPOC-led racial justice campaigns, and sought accountability in law enforcement and the criminal legal system. Alexis specializes in program development that is trauma informed, anti-oppressive, and rooted in revolutionary love. She has skills in de-escalation, conflict resolution, and mental health support. Some of the organizations she is proud to have served and learned from are The Door - A Center of Alternatives, SURJ (Showing up for Racial Justice), The Katal Center, SEED, and TRiO/Upward Bound. She completed the Leadership Fellows of New York through the New York Community Trust in 2023.

Alexis is dedicated to lifelong learning about transformative & healing justice, community-led systems change, and anti-oppression. Her heart is in community education and gathering, and she loves to create art, meaning, and change with others.
