Ode to Community:
A Youth Gathering & Celebration
Presented by CAE’s Peer Educators, Ode to Community is a youth-led event fostering connection, resource-sharing, and advocacy while raising critical funds for anti-violence youth-led programs.
Join us at Prospect Park on May 30th at 3pm and join youth groups from all over the city. Groups will share resources, get to know each other, and educate each other on topics like reproductive health, activism, restorative justice, anti-violence, climate justice, and more.
Who are Peer Educators?
Each year, CAE trains 20 Peer Educators—young leaders committed to preventing and healing from violence. They go on to teach safety and self-defense workshops, reaching hundreds of more youth. This event is the culmination of their year-long training, giving them a platform to lead and inspire.
Partners Needed
We can’t hold this event without YOU, the other amazing youth advocates in our city. We are currently working with a few organizations to organize the day of, and we would love your participation so that your amazing work can reach more young people.
Will you join us?
Registration: To help us cover the cost of tables, chairs, food, and more, registration fee is $200. If this is not possible for your group, please let us know. Please reach out to Jasmín at jasmin@caeny.org.
Sponsor our event!
Last year, CAE held our 50th Anniversary Gala. The night was a spectacular gathering of our community members, partner organizations, and biggest supporters.
This year, in response to shrinking government funding and philanthropy partners stepping back, we are reframing our annual benefit. By spending less on large celebrations, we are committing to sustaining our key programs that offer resources to communities most impacted by violence. Your sponsorship will fund vital anti-violence programs, that are at risk due to unexpected shifts in funding priorities.
